TRACK FACTS …
2009 DAYTONA 500 TICKETS ON SALE
With the 2008 season just three months old, tickets to the 2009 season-opening Daytona 500 are going on sale Saturday morning at 8:00 (ET). Fans can purchase tickets to the fifty-first running of “The Great American Race” online at www.racetickets.com, by calling 1-800-PITSHOP or visiting the Daytona International Speedway ticket office inside the lobby of the Daytona 500 Experience.
TWENTY-FOUR ALL-STARS
Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will feature twenty-four drivers – the twenty-one who already are qualified and three additions from the Sprint Showdown preliminary race … the two top finishers and a third driver to be voted in by the fans.
DRIVER SPOTLIGHT
► Kevin Harvick is the driver of the Number-29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. His crew chief is Todd Berrier.
► Harvick is the defending champion of the Sprint All-Star Race, which has its twenty-fourth running Saturday night in Charlotte. A victory this year would make him just the second driver in the history of the event to win two consecutive All-Star Races. The late Davey Allison put victories back-to-back in 1991 and 1992.
► Harvick, 32 from Bakersfield, California, has assembled an impressive finishing record over the past two seasons. He has been running at the finish of fifty-five straight races and is within three of matching his own modern-era record of fifty-eight. Harvick’s last DNF came September 24th, 2006, at Dover International Speedway.
► He is presently ninth in the Sprint Cup Series standings, less than one hundred points behind fifth-place Clint Bowyer, one of his RCR teammates. Harvick also is a successful team owner in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. With his wife DeLana, they own two cars … most notably the Number-33 Chevrolet that is fifth in owner points. Cale Gale, Ron Hornaday Junior and Harvick himself have shared the driving duties in that car this season.
IT HAPPENED ON THIS DATE

Dear Friends,
The Tony Stewart Foundation is something I have wanted to do for quite a while. Over the years, I've donated funding to numerous non-profit organizations primarily supporting chronically ill children and individuals injured in motorsports activities. However, I've never focused on creating an ongoing charitable campaign that was sustained year-round. With the formation of the Tony Stewart Foundation, community efforts will continue to expand and our giving and fundraising programs will grow substantially.
There are several non-profit organizations that do a wonderful job of supporting several of the causes that are most dear to me, particularly Kyle and Pattie Petty's Victory Junction Camp, The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald's Children's Charities. The Tony Stewart Foundation will continue to indefinitely support these tremendous organizations. I've been fortunate enough to accomplish my dream of driving race cars for a living. I trust the Tony Stewart Foundation will positively increase my strong belief of giving back to the community, which is only natural considering the numerous blessings I have received throughout my life.
I look forward to the support of our wonderful motorsports community as we ensure the goals of the Tony Stewart Foundation are accomplished.
Yours truly,
Tony
